Door-Window systems design criteria.

1. Target market.

Target market. is important in shaping the system, knowing the market criteria determines the profile depth, which accessories should be used and what kind of consumables should be produced, at the same time the competitors in the target market are examined, by creating design differences compared to the competitors, a design that is both more cost-effective and easy to manufacture and assemble, and that will stand out in the market with the performance features of the system is planned, sometimes the price/performance ratio may not be achieved at every point of the design, if performance is desired, the price will also be different.
Quality starts with design and continues with production, quality is continuous and creates the brand.

2. System depth

The nominal system depth measurement for doors and windows starts with the frame profile, the sash may have different dimensions depending on the design and accessory selection, the frame depth is determined according to the desired corner joint accessories, barriers, consumables, manufacturing and assembly workmanship, the price/performance ratio starts from this point and forms the main shape of the system, the frame depths can be expanded further with the selected barrier, this makes the system more efficient in terms of Uf values, but there is a limit to the expansion with this barrier, it may be necessary to make different designs for different frame depths, otherwise the system will experience problems at some points.

With the integration of barrier systems into aluminum profiles, very different joinery systems began to be made in large areas, this development, which lasted for many years, created different usage types with user demands and innovations of accessory manufacturers, each manufacturer developed different slots and channels to be able to mount on aluminum profiles according to their own accessories, although it varies regionally in the world, some standards started to be formed in general, according to these slot and channel dimensions, profile manufacturers started to make their designs by choosing accessories suitable for their own markets, at this point, the design criteria of door and window systems started to be formed specifically for this section, now the designer has to comply with these criteria, otherwise they either have to develop their own accessories, which are quite costly and not suitable for the market, or they have a problematic system that does not work properly, for this reason, designers shape their systems by meeting with at least one or more accessory manufacturers suitable for their target markets during the profile system design.
Since Turkey is geographically located in the Eurozone, the accessories used in the systems manufactured in Turkey are accessories manufactured in Eurozone countries, the most important of which are accessory manufacturers from Germany, Italy, Austria and Portugal. These manufacturers either have their own representatives or dealerships in Turkey.

4. System performance

As in all closed systems, the most important point in the joinery system is pressure balancing. If you do not have a good pressure balancing, no matter how well your gasket presses, it will let water in even at very low pressures. For this, you need to allow some air in, of course it should remain within these limits. So how will this happen? I will explain my experiences with performance tests in more detail in the future, where and how we should open pressure balancing.
